生物信息学与生物统计学系

The Department of Bioinformatics and Biostatistics with fifteen full time faculty and over 200 students is a member of the School of Life Sciences and Biotechnology. As the first and leading bioinformatics department in China, the research and teaching are focused in three areas: bioinformatics that covers genomics, proteomics, metabolomics and systems biology; biostatistics that covers clinical data analysis, clinical trials, biostatistics methodology; computational biochemistry that covers molecular modeling and drug design. Besides basic research, recently we have expanded to translational medicine. Faculty in the department typically get grants from government funding agencies such as NSFC and BEST, as well as from industry.
