All the students enrolled in the School of Life Sciences and Biotechnology (SLSB) in 2019 will learn platform courses for 1.5 years, then in the fourth semester, they will have three majors which includes Biotechnology, Bioengineering and Bioinformatics to choose. 

Cultivation

Biotechnology

The schooling length for Biotechnology majors which lasts for 4-6 years is flexible. Students can graduate ahead of schedule after obtaining 160.5 credits and they can extend their study as well, but generally the total school length should not exceed six years. After completing the stipulated courses and practice, obtaining the required credits, passing the moral, intellectual and physical examination, students will be conferred the Bachelor of Science degree in accordance with the conditions stipulated in the Regulations of the People's Republic of China on Academic Degrees.

Bioengineering

The schooling length for Bioengineering majors which lasts for 4-6 years is flexible. Students can graduate ahead of schedule after obtaining 165 credits and they can extend their study as well, but generally the total school length should not exceed six years. Students will be conferred the Bachelor of Science in accordance with the Regulations of the People's Republic of China on Academic Degrees after completing the stipulated courses and practice, obtaining the required credits, passing the moral, intellectual and physical assessment.

Bioinformatics

Non-degree Programs

Summer Scientific Research Project of SJTU-Ottawa University（SIRI）

This project is an agreement between SJTU and Ottawa University. Every year since 2015, the two parties send less than five undergraduates to participate in the summer scientific research internship which lasts for 2-3 months. The project is funded by the respective schools

2019 SJTU Summer Research Internship

SJTU Summer Research Internship Program aims to promote international collaboration. It offers excellent undergraduate students from around the world the opportunity to spend a summer studying at world-class research laboratories, alongside among prominent research professors.
