On April 6, 2026, Shanghai Jiao Tong University held the Global Homecoming Day to celebrate its 130th anniversary. The School of Life Sciences and Biotechnology hosted a series of homecoming events, welcoming alumni from home and abroad back to their alma mater for this grand centennial-and-thirtieth anniversary reunion. Alumni of the School gathered to witness the glorious milestone of the University’s 130-year journey and revisit the spiritual heritage of Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

Full of anticipation, alumni returned to the School and paused to capture precious moments in front of the themed backdrop. Warm greetings of "Welcome Home", heartfelt handshakes and long-awaited embraces filled the venue with warmth and affection.

Leaders and faculty members of the School waited in advance, engaging in cordial conversations with every returning alumnus and reminiscing about the unforgettable days of study, scientific research and striving on campus. In the afternoon, the 2026 Alumni Assembly of the School of Life Sciences and Biotechnology was held at the Shuhua Multi-Function Hall of the Biomedical Pharmacy Building.

As the School will celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2027, the emblem marking the 30th founding anniversary of the School was officially unveiled at the assembly. Standing at the new starting point of the University’s 130th anniversary and embarking on the new journey toward its own 30th anniversary in 2027, the School of Life Sciences and Biotechnology will remain committed to fostering virtue through education and undertaking the mission of scientific and technological innovation. It will forge ahead hand in hand with all alumni with perseverance and dedication.
