On the morning of August 28th, the School of Life Science and Technology held its welcoming ceremony and orientation for the Class of 2024 undergraduate freshmen. The event was attended by Zhang Yanhong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the School, class advisors Qin Boyang, Lin Zhi, Li Lei, and Yu Xiang, Liu Yanfang, the Director of the Student Office, and Li Fang, the Deputy Director (acting) of the Academic Affairs Office. All freshmen from the Class of 2024 were present at the meeting, which was hosted by Chen Xingyu, the ideological and political education teacher for the freshman year.

He covered various topics including student work teams, party and youth league construction, student affairs, mental health, and safety education. He emphasized the goals that students should set for themselves during their university life, urging them to acquire knowledge, learn how to handle affairs and be a good person, maintain physical and mental health, make beneficial friends, and create a colorful experience here.

Zhang Yanhong presented class flags to the class advisors and representative students on behalf of the school and took a commemorative photo with them.

In her concluding speech, she began by asking the students, "What is university? What can you do in university?" After sharing their thoughts, she discussed the differences between high school and university management models and learning requirements with the students, expressing her hope that they would quickly adapt to the transition from high school to university, take their first steps confidently, and become the helmsmen of their own lives.

The orientation serves as a launchpad for new beginnings, marking the start of a new chapter in life.
