The establishment and cooperation signing ceremony of the "Drug Innovation Joint Research Center" between Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) and Apeloa Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. was held on January 13, 2021.

DING Kuiling, Vice President of the SJTU, DENG Zixin, Dean of the School of Life Sciences and Biotechnology (SLSB), JI Shaoling, Secretary of the SLSB Party Committee, LIN Shuangjun, Vice Dean of SLSB, ZHU Fangmeng, Chairman of Apeloa, and Xu Xinliang, General Manager of Apeloa attended the signing ceremony.

In the ceremony, President DING Kuiling pointed out that the establishment of the "Drug Innovation Joint Research Center" was based on the early cooperation between SLSB, SJTU and Apeloa. DING hoped that the center would be a start for further collaboration and a model to explore university-enterprise cooperation modes. ZHU Fangmeng introduced Apeloa’s company history and developmental strategies. ZHU said that the research center can further leverage the respective advantages of Apeloa and SLSB. Last but not least, DENG Zixin expressed the far-reaching significance of the research center as it was also the beginning of information sharing, and mutual benefit. The School would strive to strengthen the new platform and mechanism for cooperation and development between the two parties. "Drug Innovation Joint Research Center" had ushered the School into a new era of industry-university-research cooperation.

After the signing ceremony, Apeloa team visited the SLSB Exhibition Hall and the Core Facility and Technical Service Center.
