Department of Microbiology

Department of Microbiology is affiliated to School of Life Science and Biotechnology, SJTU, and also an important part of State Key Laboratory of Microbial Metabolism. The Department owns world-class scientists and has made remarkable progress in the fields of biosynthesis of microbial secondary metabolic active substances, microbial metabolic engineering, microbial molecular ecology, microbial oceanography, microbial quorum sensing, and microbial metabolism of organic pollutants, making it a leading microbiology research and teaching center in China. Many professors have made great achievements in their respective fields of research, have profound international influence and also hold important positions as editors or academic organizations in many famous international journals.
